Conference and Events Manager

About the role

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, a 590-room luxury hotel on Sydney's waterfront, is looking for a Conference and Events Manager. Reporting to the Director of Conference and Events, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Conference and Events function, from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up, and work closely with Sales, Revenue, F&B, Banquets and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships and oversee seamless event delivery, including conferences, meetings, social events and group accommodation.
• Maximise revenue through upselling, identify new business opportunities, support forecasting and maintain accurate reporting across Delphi and Opera.
• Prepare and oversee event documentation, proposals and contracts, host client meetings and site inspections, and act as the main point of contact for clients.
• Develop relationships with new and existing clients, Accor hotels, suppliers and industry partners, and grow repeat business.
• Coach, train and support the team of Ambassadors, and use guest feedback to improve the offering.

Required profile

• Confident, commercially minded hospitality professional with experience in conference and events, sales or a similar environment.
• Passion for creating exceptional experiences and building lasting client relationships.
• Highly organised and proactive, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communicator who collaborates across departments and supports the team.
