Community Cultural Liaison Adviser

About the role

Roper Gulf Regional Council is recruiting a Community Cultural Liaison Adviser to join its team in Wugularr. The adviser acts as a key link between the Council and Aboriginal communities, ensuring cultural perspectives, traditions and practices are respected and integrated into all Council operations, programs and services. The role also involves promoting cultural awareness and cultural safety within the Council and the wider community.

The position is offered under an approved Special Measures Plan and is open only to people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nationality who meet the essential selection criteria and are suitable for the level of the position.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between the Council and Aboriginal communities
• Foster relationships with Aboriginal communities
• Contribute to selection panels
• Promote cultural awareness within the Council and the broader community
• Ensure cultural safety across Council operations, programs and services

Required profile

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nationality
• Meets the essential selection criteria set out in the Position Description
• Suitable for the level of the position

• Base salary of $42.4369 per hour plus 25% casual loading
