Community and Media Engagement Manager

About the role

The University of the Sunshine Coast’s Clinical Trials unit is seeking a Community and Media Engagement Manager to lead the development of its digital presence and media relations. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Brand, you will work within a fast‑moving research environment to raise the profile of UniSC Clinical Trials across community, industry and media audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build, grow and moderate online communities and social media channels to engage stakeholders and showcase trial activities.
• Create and coordinate media content, including news releases, visual assets and campaign materials, in partnership with the marketing team.
• Support staff and internal partners in preparing media briefings, responding to enquiries and maintaining positive relationships with journalists and industry contacts.
• Develop and implement multi‑channel communication strategies that align with organisational goals.
• Monitor media coverage and digital analytics to inform continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience managing online communities and delivering digital engagement strategies.
• Strong writing, editing and media liaison abilities.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

• Coordinating multi‑channel marketing campaigns.

What we offer

• Level 7 position with a salary range of $105,843 – $115,703 per annum plus up to 17 % superannuation.
• Full‑time fixed‑term contract (2 years) based at UniSC SouthBank, Health Hub Morayfield or Sunshine Coast campuses.
