Communications Advisor – Consumer & COO

About the role

The Communications Advisor will create clear, practical and engaging communications for Optus Retail and Contact Centre frontline teams. Working in a pooled model, you will translate operational and business priorities into audience‑focused written, visual and video content.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and deliver frontline communications such as updates, leader messages, MyHub posts, quick guides, FAQs and campaign materials.
• Translate complex operational, technical and business information into clear, actionable content for different audiences and channels.
• Create and adapt visual content using Canva (or equivalent) and produce short‑form video with Shootsa (or similar).
• Develop reusable templates and production approaches to improve quality, speed and consistency.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify communication needs, recommend appropriate channels and challenge duplication.
• Publish, maintain and refresh content across MyHub and other channels, keeping accurate records of approvals and publishing dates.
• Monitor frontline feedback, identify themes and gaps, and contribute to measuring communication effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information for frontline audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to assess audience needs and select the most effective communication channel, format and delivery approach.
• Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple business functions.
• Strong planning, coordination and quality‑assurance capabilities, managing competing priorities.

Required skills

• Experience creating visual content with Canva or equivalent design tools.
• Experience producing short‑form video using Shootsa or similar platforms.
