About the role

As a Commis Chef at The Olsen Melbourne, you will work alongside experienced senior chefs, learning the art of high‑quality food preparation while contributing to a vibrant boutique luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present food that meets property standards and service timelines.
• Maintain high quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes.
• Adhere to local health, safety, and HACCP regulations.
• Assist with a range of kitchen tasks, from dishwashing to cooking.
• Receive ongoing training and guidance from senior chefs.

Required profile

• Recognised culinary training and commercial cookery certification.
• Safe food handling or food safety supervisor certification.
• Ambitious, passionate about food and open to feedback.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment.
• Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge and implementation.
• Food safety and safe handling practices.
