Director of Sales – MICE

About the role

Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales – MICE to lead its Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions sales function. You will manage a team of three Sales Executives, build strong client relationships and drive revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Follow a structured sales plan to secure high‑yield corporate and MICE accounts, boosting occupancy and revenue.
• Meet weekly and monthly targets for corporate room nights, MICE revenue and hotel outlet sales as per budget.
• Negotiate rates, prepare proposals, quotes and contracts, and conduct site inspections for prospective clients.
• Identify new business opportunities, represent the hotel at events and collaborate on promotional campaigns.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Hospitality, Business or Marketing (advantageous).
• Proven track record in sales or business development within hospitality or MICE sectors.
• Strong leadership experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of market trends, competitor activities and client needs.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and Opera.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
