Commercial IT Lawyer – Sydney

About the role

This position offers a flexible, non‑billable environment within a boutique commercial law firm in Sydney CBD. You will work closely with senior lawyers on a variety of technology and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and technology agreements, including SaaS, licensing, reseller and procurement contracts.
• Provide advice on contractual interpretation, risk allocation, commercial strategy and regulatory compliance, especially privacy and data protection.
• Manage client relationships, retainers and contribute to legal updates and team growth.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience with a current Australian practising certificate.
• Strong general commercial experience and confidence drafting complex agreements.
• Familiarity with technology contracts such as SaaS and related commercial agreements.
• Ability to deliver clear, practical, commercially‑focused advice.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple client priorities.
• Collaborative, proactive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves in a fast‑moving team.
