Collections & Recoveries Consultant (Late Stage)

About the role

A leading fintech organisation, recruited by Mayday Recruitment, is hiring an experienced Collections & Recoveries Consultant for its Sydney CBD team. The role covers late-stage commercial collections and recoveries, with a focus on investigating accounts, building rapport with customers and negotiating repayment plans or settlements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of late-stage commercial collections and recoveries accounts
• Investigate accounts through skip tracing and information gathering to support positive outcomes
• Build rapport with customers and negotiate repayment plans or settlements
• Handle inbound and outbound customer conversations professionally and empathetically
• Assess financial hardship applications in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Work with the wider team to meet individual and business objectives
• Maintain accurate records and case notes in company systems

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in collections or recoveries
• Exposure to late-stage collections, recoveries or arrears management highly regarded
• Experience with skip tracing and negotiating payment arrangements
• Strong communication, negotiation and objection-handling skills
• Resilience, accountability and a solutions-focused mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment
• Litigation experience highly regarded

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Salesforce experience is advantageous but not essential
