Clinical Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

Join the Pharmacy Department at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, a 300‑bed regional teaching hospital serving the New England Northwest region of NSW. As a Clinical Pharmacist you will rotate through a variety of clinical specialties and the dispensary, providing medication review, expert clinical advice and support to patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through ward‑based specialties and the dispensary to gain broad clinical experience.
• Review patient medications and provide clinical recommendations to medical and nursing staff.
• Support patients and carers in understanding and managing medication changes.
• Contribute to the Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) initiatives across the district.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, grand rounds and in‑service education.
• Mentor junior pharmacy staff and assist with pharmacy education programs.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Experience or strong interest in hospital pharmacy practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and mentorship.
