Clinical Nurse Consultant – Cancer Care (Virtual)

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Virtual Care) provides clinical leadership and coordinates care for cancer patients across the Northern Cancer Service in Tasmania. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the CNC acts as a key contact for patients, families, and clinicians, delivering safe, timely, and patient‑centred care through telehealth and regional outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate virtual cancer care delivery across multiple sites.
• Provide expert clinical guidance and act as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and health professionals.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative virtual care pathways aligned with clinical governance and safety frameworks.
• Support service improvement, continuity of care, and integration of virtual models into existing services.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in oncology or cancer care.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills to educate and navigate patients and families.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care in virtual and remote settings.

Required skills

• Knowledge of telehealth platforms and virtual care delivery.
• Understanding of clinical governance, safety frameworks, and service integration.
