About the role
The Clerical Officer provides secretarial and administrative support to the Business Manager at Albany Regional Prison, ensuring smooth front‑desk operations and efficient processing of prisoner mail. The role also assists the administration and finance teams as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Manage reception duties, including greeting visitors and handling enquiries.
- Process incoming and outgoing prisoner mail in accordance with security protocols.
- Provide administrative support to the Business Manager and other prison departments.
- Assist finance and administration teams with ad‑hoc tasks.
Required profile
- Strong administrative and clerical experience, including customer service, data entry and reception.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to a respectful, accountable workplace culture.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
Required skills
- Proficiency in standard office software for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to manage front‑desk operations and handle confidential information securely.
