Civil Construction Worker

About the role

The City of Greater Bendigo is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Worker to join its Works Unit. You will support the delivery and maintenance of civil infrastructure across the municipality, working on roads, drainage, concreting, paving and related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform civil construction tasks within road reserves, including drainage, concreting, paving, earthworks and asphalting.
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment such as tip trucks, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders and skid steers.
• Ensure a safe and efficient worksite by following OH&S procedures and conducting regular safety checks.
• Communicate with internal teams and the public, providing courteous customer service.
• Travel from the Adam Street depot in Golden Square to various sites across the Bendigo region.

Required profile

• Proven experience in civil construction, road maintenance, landscaping or concrete work.
• Ability to safely operate a range of construction plant and equipment.
• Strong safety focus with knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
• Physically fit for regular lifting, digging and general labour.
• Pre‑employment medical, satisfactory police check, Heavy Rigid driver’s licence, Construction Induction Card (Red Card) and, preferably, a traffic management certificate.

• Annual salary $68,201 (incl. industry allowance) plus superannuation.
