Childcare Assistant – Early Education & Care

About the role

Fairfield City Council is looking for a motivated Childcare Assistant to join its Best Start Education & Care team. You will work with children aged 0‑6 years, supporting their development in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 0‑6, incorporating EYLF and NQS guidelines.
• Plan and implement daily programming and activities that promote learning and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment for children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Collaborate with the team to monitor and document children’s progress.
• Support children with additional needs and respond to any safeguarding concerns.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.
• Current Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk Certificate and Child Protection Update 2023.
• Current First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certifications approved by ACECQA.
• Valid Working with Children check.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Education & Care National Regulations 2011.
