Ground Crewman Aircraft Support (GCAS) Instructor – AH‑64

About the role

The Ground Crewman Aircraft Support (GCAS) Instructor will deliver hands‑on training for the AH‑64 Apache fleet, supporting Army Aviation operations across barracks, field environments and live hot‑refuel missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess LMP training, including Initial Employment Training (IET) and act as a Qualified Assessor.
• Conduct GCAS training in barracks and field settings, covering hot‑refuel and ground support procedures.
• Review, update and author courseware, handouts and LMP materials.
• Support ePEX section review and ensure compliance with Defence publications, airworthiness and risk‑management standards.

Required profile

• Aviation Explosive Operations Supervisor qualification (or equivalent).
• Certificate IV TAE40116 (Training & Assessment) or higher.
• Bulk fuel qualification (L121) or equivalent.
• Australian citizenship and willingness to undergo government security vetting.

Required skills

• GCAS operational experience.
• AVN FARP Operator certification.
• Heavy vehicle (L121 driver) licence and heavy rigid licence.
• CHEM ALERT 1‑6 training and hazardous chemicals awareness.
