Chief Revenue Officer - Industrial Capital Equipment
Employeur non precise · Melbourne
Job description
About the role
A Melbourne-based, privately held Australian industrial equipment group is hiring a newly created Chief Revenue Officer. The business designs, sells, rents, hires and services facility maintenance equipment through a national network of branches and mobile service technicians, with about half of revenue coming from recurring rental and hire. The CRO owns all revenue streams, leads marketing, business development and the national field sales team, and is the clear successor to the CEO with a planned transition within 12 to 24 months.
Key responsibilities
- Build and own the three-year revenue plan across sectors, regions, customer segments and the mix of sale, rental and hire.
- Shape the go-to-market model, including territories, coverage of key, mid-market and transactional customers, and the handoff from inside sales to field sales.
- Grow rental contract value while protecting gross profit and contribution margin through pricing, contract structuring and utilisation.
- Lead marketing and business development to generate 300-400 leads per month and build a predictable pipeline backed by CRM discipline (Salesforce).
- Lift sales capability and accountability as the business moves from founder-led selling to a performance-managed national revenue team.
- Drive national expansion, including Western Australia, and position the business against established global brands and new low-cost and autonomous competitors.
- Support acquisition integration and help find future growth opportunities.
Required profile
- Senior commercial leader (CRO, Sales Director, GM Sales or Commercial GM) with full accountability for revenue, margin and a multi-channel sales team; pure-play marketing backgrounds will not be considered.
- Proven record of scaling a business or division, ideally with exposure to organisations of $100m+.
- Background in industrial capital equipment, machinery hire and rental, B2B distribution or a related technical market.
- Experience growing rental or hire revenue alongside capital sales and negotiating high-value, long-term agreements.
- Has built sales structures, incentive plans and accountability from the ground up, and has led marketing, business development and field sales.
- Strategic but hands-on, able to work closely with owners as a trusted member of the leadership team.
What we offer
- Executive-level package with negotiable base salary, $25k vehicle allowance, superannuation, STI and LTI linked to the growth plan.
- A clear path to CEO in a profitable, growing business, with real influence over strategy, structure and culture from day one.
The search is managed by Six Degrees Executive, and applications are handled in strict confidence.
