Junior Specification Manager - Fire-Rated Panel Systems

About the role

A client of the recruiter supplies fire-rated panel systems, a technical product where getting the specification right matters. This is an entry-level specification seat based in Melbourne, working with architects, designers and engineers to get the system onto drawings and make sure it is specified correctly. It suits an engineer, architect, designer or technical person moving into sales; an engineer from the fire-rated or passive fire space is ideal.

Key responsibilities

• Work with architects, designers and engineers to place the fire-rated panel system on their drawings
• Ensure the system is specified correctly and explained clearly, as the detail and compliance of the product do most of the persuading
• Explain how the system works and where it fits in building projects

Required profile

• Ideal candidate: an engineer from the fire-rated or passive fire space wanting to move into sales
• Also welcome: architects, interior designers and junior technical people looking to move into specification
• No sales background required
• Curious, organised and comfortable talking to people

Required skills

• Ability to read a drawing and understand a detail
• Ability to explain a detail clearly to the people who draw it
• Understanding of how a product gets onto drawings, whether you drew them yourself or worked alongside those who do
