Chef - School Catering

About the role

Compass Group Australia, through Chartwells, which provides catering and hospitality services in education, is hiring a full-time chef in Pymble, NSW. The role prepares fresh, nutritious meals for students on a Monday to Friday schedule with good work-life balance, and allows stand-down during school holidays or extra work if desired.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily for students
• Assist with functions and events throughout the year
• Monitor stock and minimise wastage while maintaining hygiene standards
• Deliver healthy meal choices and guidance to students
• Work independently and as part of a team, with bulk cooking experience

Required profile

• Minimum Cert. III in Commercial Cookery
• Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one
• Experience with bulk cooking and supervising a team preferred
• Reliable, adaptable and team-oriented

Required skills

• Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety
• Bulk cooking and team supervision
