Chef Manager - Aged Care Residence, Horsham

About the role

Cater Care is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at an aged care residence in Horsham, Victoria. This is a hands-on leadership role where the chef takes ownership of kitchen operations, leads and develops a team and drives high standards in food quality, service and compliance. The roster is Monday to Wednesday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and Thursday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team, driving performance, engagement and accountability
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, food preparation, presentation and service
• Manage food and labour costs to achieve budget targets
• Order, control and maintain stock inventory levels
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and quality standards
• Oversee bulk meal production and prepare texture-modified meals

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification and current Food Safety Supervisor certification
• Proven experience leading a kitchen team or managing hospitality operations
• Experience in hospitality, catering, aged care or healthcare food services
• Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
• Willingness to commit long term to working and living in the Horsham area
• Current flu vaccination for the year and a National Criminal History Check; visa sponsorship is not available
