Casual Pharmacy Technician - Christmas Cover

About the role

Slade Pharmacy Pimlico, located within Mater Private Hospital in Townsville, is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Student to provide cover over the Christmas holiday period, supporting both weekday and weekend operations. The role suits technicians wanting to supplement their income on weekends or students seeking hospital pharmacy experience. Shifts may be available on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and availability during the Christmas and New Year period is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications
• Assist with customer enquiries on over-the-counter medicines and with clinic queries
• Learn to mix cancer therapies in a drug safety cabinet or using a closed-system safety device
• Carry out administrative duties and support
• Process orders and manage inventory

Required profile

• Australian working rights valid for at least 12 months from the date of employment
• Previous pharmacy dispensary experience; hospital pharmacy experience is highly regarded but not essential
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Availability to work the advertised shifts during the Christmas and New Year period
