Casual Library Services Officer

About the role

The City of Kalamunda is recruiting a Casual Library Services Officer to provide high-quality customer service to community members. The role covers a range of administrative and clerical duties, promotes an effective and welcoming library service through positive engagement and responsive support, and is part of a city-wide libraries recruitment process. Applicants may be asked to work across any of the city's library locations depending on operational needs.

This is a casual position offering flexible support during periods of leave, staff absences and increased operational demand. Applications close on 5 November 2026; the City reserves the right to appoint before then and does not accept submissions from recruitment agencies.

Required profile

• Experience working in a customer-facing environment
• Ability to assist customers with technology, computers, devices and digital resources
• Experience supporting community programs, events or activities
• Strong organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to customer enquiries
• Ability to promote services and engage with diverse community members

Required skills

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong administrative, data entry and record-keeping skills
• Cash handling and reconciliation experience
• Processing memberships, loans, returns and stock records accurately

What we offer

• Level 3 hourly rate of $45.60 inclusive of casual loading, plus superannuation
