Casual Laundry Attendant

About the role

HammondCare Caulfield is looking for a casual laundry attendant to join its Support Services team. The role is based in an aged care home providing specialised care for residents with dementia and complex care needs, and the person must feel comfortable talking with residents and working in that environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, launder, process and deliver professionally cleaned linen to internal and external customers.
• Communicate with managers and other staff so that laundry-related issues are acted on and completed in time.
• Seek improved ways of working and implement HammondCare policies and procedures relevant to the role.

Required profile

• Commitment to align with HammondCare's Christian mission, motivation and mission in action.
• Previous experience in a laundry facility is desirable.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with good problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable conversing with residents while working in their living spaces.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs.

Required skills

• Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling, infection control and standard precautions.
• High-level communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
