Casual Community Care Worker (Unqualified)

About the role

Colac Otway Shire Council's Ageing Well team is looking for a casual Community Care Worker (unqualified) to support older people to live independently in their own homes. Working as part of the Community Services team, you will provide respectful, person-centred in-home support to help clients maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical support to clients in their homes and within the community
• Domestic assistance including vacuuming, mopping, laundry and bed making
• Basic meal preparation
• Shopping assistance
• Community transport
• Monitor client wellbeing and report any changes to the Team Leader
• Support clients in line with their individual care plans
• Maintain accurate records and communicate to ensure quality service delivery

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A compassionate, respectful and customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Current Victorian driver licence
• National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or willingness to work towards one)
• Experience in domestic support, aged care, community care or disability support is highly regarded
