Casual Community Care Worker (Qualified)

About the role

Colac Otway Shire Council's Ageing Well team is hiring a casual Community Care Worker to provide in-home support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing for older people and other community members across the Colac Otway region. The worker works closely with clients to help them maintain their daily routines and stay safely in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care support, including showering and dressing
• Domestic assistance such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Shopping assistance and transport support
• Social support and community access
• Respite support for carers and clients
• Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting changes in circumstances
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting quality care delivery

Required profile

• Caring, respectful and client-focused approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience supporting people with diverse needs
• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, Community Services or a related qualification
• Current Victorian driver licence and access to a registered, roadworthy and fully insured vehicle
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current Level 2 First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one

• Flexible casual employment
• Pay of $42.10 to $44.60 per hour plus superannuation
