Capability Innovation and Efficiency Manager

About the role

Toll Group, part of Japan Post, is looking for a Capability Innovation and Efficiency Manager in Melbourne. You will lead the national Capability Innovation and Efficiency Program across Defence Theatre Logistics warehousing operations, driving continuous improvement, innovation, operational excellence and capability development. It is a strategic leadership role that influences senior stakeholders, delivers technology and process improvements and optimises warehouse operations to improve safety, compliance, readiness and performance across a national network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a national portfolio of innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop business cases, delivery roadmaps and governance frameworks aligned with contractual and strategic objectives.
• Drive warehouse process standardisation, facility optimisation and operating model improvements across multiple sites.
• Champion technology adoption, automation opportunities and data-driven decision-making.
• Partner with Defence, operational leaders and functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable business outcomes and change initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
• 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, engineering or warehouse operations, including senior leadership responsibility.
• Experience delivering warehouse optimisation, automation and technology-enabled improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage programs, budgets, business cases, suppliers and operational risks.
• Proven track record of measurable improvements in safety, efficiency, compliance and operational performance.

Required skills

• Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher).
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and operational excellence methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership and influencing skills in complex environments.
