About the role

AECOM is looking for a Cadet Structural Designer to join its Resources & Industrial team in Townsville. This paid, full‑time position lets you study for an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering while gaining hands‑on experience on mining, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with drafting and design input, producing accurate engineering drawings and documentation.
• Contribute to small and major projects across mining, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
• Collaborate with senior designers, engineers and project managers to deliver project outcomes.
• Develop practical technical skills throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Completed Year 12 and eligible for enrolment in an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong interest in structural drafting and heavy‑industry projects.
• Motivated to learn from professional engineers and apply studies to real‑world work.
