Associate Director Structural Engineering

About the role

AECOM’s Resources and Industrial team is seeking an Associate Director of Structural Engineering to lead technical delivery for mining, heavy‑industry and infrastructure projects from the Townsville office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight across all project phases, from feasibility studies to detailed design and execution.
• Develop and review engineering designs, documentation and technical checks for structures such as mines, process plants, marine wharfs, civil works, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, power stations and foundations.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to lead concept design, client interaction and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and delivering high‑quality projects.

Required skills

• RPEQ registration and Chartered Engineer status.
• CPEng (Structures) qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, ASME codes and API standards.
• Technical expertise in mining structures, marine structures, civil structures, bridges, water & sewerage treatment plants and pile foundations.
