Business Development / Sales Executive

About the role

Marsh is seeking a Business Development / Sales Executive to generate new business across its Corporate/mid-market and commercial space. The role is based in Perth and is hybrid, with at least three days per week spent in the office. It suits recent graduates or early-career professionals who want to build a career in business development.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate and qualify prospect relationships, including key contacts and financial data
• Manage a prospect pipeline, keep prospects informed and move opportunities through the sales funnel
• Use the Marsh CRM to track the sales funnel and pipeline performance
• Research target markets and industries with the MMC Resource Centre, review and update databases, and identify target portfolios
• Develop proposals and presentations that explain how Marsh's solutions address specific risk issues
• Negotiate terms and conditions of engagement in line with Marsh's operating model
• Create and manage an individual development plan with financial goals and sales strategies
• Prioritise prospects with the Risk Management & Corporate State Leader and practice leaders, and leverage marketing channels, buying groups and associations

Required profile

• Previous sales/business development experience or agency recruitment experience
• Relevant Business Development or Insurance Broking experience is a plus
• Knowledge of broking principles, insurance products and renewals is a plus
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills, with a sales mindset
• Good working relationships with insurers and underwriting partners
