Business Development Manager

About the role

This role drives go‑to‑market effectiveness for the Government and Public Institutions practice in Australia, managing panel and tender processes and supporting strategic growth priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the GPI opportunities pipeline, including panel applications and tender processes.
• Track and qualify market opportunities, develop high‑quality tender responses, and improve knowledge management.
• Coordinate internal and external tender administration, serve as point of contact for public‑sector clients, and support pre‑RFP engagement strategies.
• Lead post‑submission activities, capture lessons learned, and contribute to process improvements.
• Provide regional business development support, assist with pipeline reporting, account planning, and implementation of commercial effectiveness initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in business development, tender or bid management, preferably within the public sector or professional services.
• Strong project management ability, high attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a persuasive, client‑centric approach.
• Collaborative style, able to build relationships across seniority levels and influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience in tender pipeline management and procurement panel administration.
• Ability to develop and quality‑assure tender responses, including coordination with legal, finance, and knowledge management teams.
• Proficiency in reviewing tender feedback, conducting after‑action reviews, and implementing continuous improvement.
