Business Development Manager – Government & Public Institutions

About the role

This role drives go‑to‑market effectiveness for the Government and Public Institutions practice in Australia, managing panel and tender processes and supporting strategic growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the GPI opportunities pipeline, including panel applications, agreements and tender processes.
• Track tender portals, qualify opportunities and make go/no‑go decisions.
• Serve as the point of contact for public‑sector clients on procurement panels and portals.
• Develop high‑quality, client‑centric tender responses and coordinate inputs from legal, finance and other departments.
• Lead post‑submission activities, including clarification requests and after‑action reviews.
• Support regional business development initiatives, pipeline reporting and account planning.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in business development, tender or bid management, preferably within the public sector or professional services.
• Strong project‑management ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with high accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for persuasive, value‑driven responses.
• Collaborative working style with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
