Business Development Manager – Canberra

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive go‑to‑market effectiveness for the Government and Public Institutions practice in Australia, managing panel and tender processes and supporting strategic growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the GPI opportunities pipeline, including panel applications, agreements and tender processes.
• Track tender portals, qualify opportunities and make go/no‑go decisions.
• Serve as point of contact for public‑sector clients on procurement panels, handling Q&A, timelines and documentation.
• Coordinate tender response development with proposal managers, partners and support functions.
• Quality‑assure submissions for compliance, accuracy and completeness.
• Lead post‑submission reviews, capture feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide regional business development support, pipeline reporting and account planning.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in business development, tender or bid management.
• Experience in public‑sector or professional‑services environments.
• Strong project‑management ability with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative style with capability to influence senior stakeholders.
