Business Banking Manager – SME Portfolio (Sydney)

About the role

The Business Banking Manager will manage and grow an existing portfolio of SME customers for ANZ’s Business & Private Bank in Sydney. You will deliver tailored, whole‑of‑customer solutions across multiple channels, ensuring high‑quality, proactive service that supports business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Handle high‑volume inbound calls and conduct structured outbound outreach to generate leads.
• Provide high‑quality service to a diverse range of SME customers within a team‑managed portfolio.
• Retain and grow existing relationships by understanding client ambitions and recommending suitable banking solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Lighthouse and support teams to deliver rapid, customer‑focused outcomes.
• Meet performance targets across the balanced scorecard, including retention, growth and service metrics.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the ANZ product suite to ensure appropriate solution recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in relationship management within SME banking or a comparable financial services role.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills across phone, video, email and digital platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a high‑performing team environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ANZ’s banking products and services.
