BESS Project Manager – Energy Storage Projects

About the role

As a core member of our UK & European Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project team, you will lead the development of energy‑storage projects from Ready‑to‑Build through Financial Close to Commercial Operation Date. Based in Australia, you will combine technical construction knowledge with commercial insight to deliver grid‑connected storage assets worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical inputs across grid, civil and construction workstreams and act as the main liaison between clients and internal teams.
• Manage contracts and stakeholder relationships in line with FIDIC‑based EPC agreements and grid‑connection regulations.
• Lead planning, scheduling and resource allocation for BESS EPC projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Control project schedules, budgets and risk registers, optimise grid‑connection offers and assess site constructability.
• Oversee change orders, claims and subcontractor performance while ensuring HSE, ESG and local regulatory compliance.
• Support technical due‑diligence for acquisitions and capture cost efficiencies during pre‑construction phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale EPC projects in the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, grid‑connection standards and civil construction processes.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, negotiate with contractors and drive projects to on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑management skills with a focus on compliance and quality.
