Bar Manager - Waterfront Venue, Darwin

About the role

A waterfront venue at Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin's Waterfront Precinct is looking for a Bar Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the venue and lead a team of about 10 staff. The role is hands-on, similar to a Venue Manager, with active work behind the bar supported by the Directors. The venue is licensed for up to 100 patrons and serves afternoon drinks, cocktails, long lunches and celebrations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintain high standards of service, presentation, safety and compliance
• Prepare quality cocktails with consistency and recipe accuracy behind the bar
• Lead from the front during busy service and work closely with the kitchen team
• Lead, motivate and train a team of about 10 staff
• Manage rosters, recruitment and onboarding within agreed labour budgets
• Handle ordering, stocktakes, POS and cash reconciliation while minimising wastage
• Bring fresh ideas for cocktails, promotions and events

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Manager or strong Bar Supervisor
• Demonstrated commitment to high customer service standards
• Experience in rostering, recruitment, training, stock control and POS systems
• Current RSA certification and availability to work 38 to 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends

• Strong cocktail preparation skills and sound beverage knowledge
• POS systems
