Chef Manager - Remote Arnhem Land

About the role

Randstad, working with ALPA (The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation), is recruiting a Chef Manager to lead commercial kitchen operations in remote Arnhem Land. The role involves managing local catering teams, delivering high-quality meals and embedding best-practice food safety, with high autonomy and the chance to mentor local staff and upskill community members.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily food preparation, menu planning and meal presentation, meeting client dietary requirements and budget allocations
• Manage, supervise and train cooks and kitchen hands
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS plans, including equipment compliance and infection control
• Perform monthly stocktakes, manage suppliers, prepare wastage reports and cost menus
• Develop therapeutic and culturally appropriate menus for social events and seasonal community needs

Required profile

• Chef qualification with at least 4 years' experience in production kitchen management or similar
• Ability to lead, mentor and train team members
• Capacity to work extended hours, handle physical demands in tropical conditions and live in remote Aboriginal communities
• Unrestricted manual driver's licence, NT Working with Children clearance (Ochre Card) and First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
