About the role
The Banquet Duty Manager will lead the delivery of events at Novotel Sydney International Airport, ensuring each guest experience is memorable from intimate meetings to large conferences and gala dinners.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate event execution with Food & Beverage, Conference & Events, and Sales & Marketing teams.
- Oversee set‑up, service delivery and pack‑down, maintaining high standards.
- Manage profit and loss, inventory and labour costs.
- Assist the F&B Manager with operational and financial budgets.
- Lead, train and develop banquet staff, fostering engagement and motivation.
- Liaise with guests during events to ensure logistics and service quality.
Required profile
- Leadership experience in food & beverage, conferencing or high‑volume hospitality.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills.
- Professional presentation and passion for service.
- Ability to train, mentor and develop team members.
- Calm, organised and solutions‑focused attitude.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Required skills
- Experience managing event budgets and inventory.
- Proficiency in coordinating multi‑departmental event execution.
