Associate Security Engineer, Identity Security

About the role

KBR is looking for an Associate Security Engineer to join its Identity Security Services team. This permanent, full‑time role in Sydney offers hands‑on experience with identity and access management across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and hybrid solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity, directory services and identity synchronization platforms.
• Manage identities, access, authentication, authorization, privileged access and identity governance for users, groups, devices, applications and service accounts.
• Troubleshoot identity and access issues, perform root cause analysis and support incident response, security monitoring and remediation.
• Support enterprise application integrations, federation services and modern authentication technologies such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, MFA, Conditional Access and passwordless authentication.
• Monitor identity security, directory health, PKI, certificate management and ensure compliance with governance, audit and risk requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, identity administration or related technical support.
• Australian citizenship.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration.
• PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Graph, KQL.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, MFA, Conditional Access, passwordless authentication.
• Understanding of PKI, certificate management, LDAP, Kerberos.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender or other SIEM tools.
