Associate Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

An exciting associate‑level position within Aurecon’s Sydney Ground Engineering team, focusing on shaping the future of infrastructure. You will design what’s beneath and help deliver complex underground works for major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of geotechnical services across multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through construction.
• Manage medium to large‑scale geotechnical investigations and design packages, including scope, programme, budget and risk.
• Provide technical leadership on complex problems using advanced analysis tools such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio and Rocscience.
• Develop and review proposals, tenders and commercial inputs.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development.

Required profile

• 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration and relevant professional accreditation.
• Proven experience leading and reviewing complex geotechnical designs and investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and mentor engineers and geologists.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLAXIS for advanced geotechnical analysis.
• Proficiency with GeoStudio for modelling and design.
• Proficiency with Rocscience software suite.
