Associate Director, Markets Non-Financial Risk (NFR)

About the role

The Associate Director, Markets NFR is responsible for driving non‑financial risk governance across ANZ's Australia Markets business. Working closely with the broader Markets NFR team, the role ensures that risk structures, reporting and oversight align with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations, delivering data‑driven insights that support informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management of non‑financial risk governance and oversight in line with enterprise risk standards and regulatory obligations.
• Design and implement divisional governance artefacts such as attestations, aggregated risk profiles, risk reviews and issue registers.
• Support thematic reviews and internal audits conducted by second‑ and third‑line defence functions.
• Provide actionable, data‑driven insights across the end‑to‑end customer journey to inform governance and decision‑making.
• Oversee escalations, ensuring timely resolution of key risk or governance issues and escalating to the Director when required.
• Coordinate with enterprise and divisional stakeholders to maintain alignment, consistency and clarity of governance practices.
• Prepare and review governance papers, reports and dashboards for senior leadership and relevant committees.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in non‑financial risk governance within a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to translate complex risk data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Proven capability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage escalations effectively.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on fostering a strong risk culture.
