Associate Director, Governance and Compliance

About the role

Based at Western Sydney University’s Parramatta City campus, the Associate Director will lead the development and continuous improvement of governance, compliance and policy frameworks across The College.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of governance, compliance and policy frameworks.
• Provide expert governance and compliance advice to support informed decision‑making and organisational accountability.
• Oversee complaints, incidents, appeals and misconduct matters, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
• Prepare high‑quality reports, briefings and submissions for executive leaders, committees and external stakeholders.
• Drive reviews, audits and assurance activities to strengthen compliance, manage risk and improve organisational performance.

Required profile

• Experienced governance and compliance professional able to navigate complex regulatory and policy environments.
• Trusted advisor capable of influencing stakeholders and driving a culture of accountability.
• Skilled at leading governance, risk and compliance initiatives that deliver practical organisational outcomes.
• Analytical problem‑solver who can translate complex information into clear advice for senior leaders and committees.
