Associate Professor – School of Law

About the role

Western Sydney University’s School of Law is seeking an Associate Professor to lead teaching, research and engagement across its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The role is full‑time, based at the Parramatta South campus, and offers flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching and curriculum leadership for law courses.
• Develop and innovate curricula, supporting academic quality and student success.
• Maintain an established research profile, publish in leading journals and secure competitive grants.
• Supervise Higher Degree Research candidates and mentor early‑career academics.
• Build and sustain relationships with the legal profession, industry, government and community organisations.
• Contribute to school governance, strategic initiatives and a collaborative academic culture.

Required profile

• PhD in law or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching, curriculum development and student engagement.
• Strong research record with high‑quality publications and evidence of scholarly impact.
• Experience supervising higher degree research candidates.
• Commitment to social justice, diversity and community engagement.
