About the role
Ares is seeking a high‑calibre investment professional to join its Asia Direct Lending team. The Associate will support the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and underwriting new credit opportunities to transaction execution and post‑closing portfolio management.
Key responsibilities
- Perform detailed financial and market research to support investment decisions.
- Screen, assess, and build complex Excel models for new credit opportunities, including cash‑flow analysis and debt structuring.
- Prepare and present investment committee materials and external pitches.
- Analyse portfolio performance, maintain valuations, and provide market updates.
- Assist with legal documentation, negotiation, and investment closings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree from a top‑tier institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking or principal investing.
- Strong quantitative, financial and analytical abilities.
- Self‑motivated, able to thrive in a fast‑moving, demanding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high integrity.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel modelling capability.
- Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
