Assistant Manager, Lending Services (Agribusiness)

About the role

ANZ is hiring an Assistant Manager within its Lending Services team, which covers the Agribusiness portfolio ranging from small family-run cropping operations to sophisticated wine and fishing businesses. The role sits in the Risk department of the Business & Private Banking division and is based at 240 St Georges Terrace, Perth. It is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) with no individual sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with customers, Relationship Managers and key stakeholders to deliver practical, balanced business outcomes.
• Analyse financial information and contribute to credit submissions and customer strategies.
• Build capability in credit writing, risk assessment, financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Gain exposure to complex lending structures and higher-risk customer scenarios, including restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters.
• Learn from experienced banking, credit, risk and legal professionals and strengthen your understanding of the full customer lifecycle.

Required profile

• Ideally experience in business banking, commercial banking, credit analysis or a related financial services environment; agribusiness banking experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Ability to interpret financial information, identify key risks and draw sound conclusions.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and constructive willingness to challenge.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with interest in developing credit writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to managing risk responsibly.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn about agribusiness and industry trends with support from colleagues.
