Assistant Director of Wellbeing Education

About the role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking an experienced and inspiring Assistant Director of Wellbeing Education to lead and develop the Senior School’s wellbeing education programme. In this senior leadership position you will work closely with the Director of Wellbeing Education to ensure wellbeing is deliberately taught, thoughtfully sequenced and experienced by every student.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of the Senior School wellbeing curriculum, including health, respectful relationships and consent.
• Coordinate the Personal Development Programme and embed an inclusive values framework across school life.
• Support the school’s response to complex or high‑risk student matters, ensuring safeguarding, procedural integrity and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Lead the integration of Social and Emotional Learning capabilities throughout the curriculum.
• Facilitate service‑learning, active citizenship and values‑based programmes.
• Maintain clear expectations of conduct and model the school’s Anglican values.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating formation, character or wellbeing programmes, preferably aligned with a graduate profile.
• Strong understanding of inclusive faith or values frameworks within contemporary wellbeing education.
• Proven ability to teach evidence‑informed content in age‑appropriate, developmentally sequenced ways.
• Experience in complex case management, safeguarding and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Knowledge of restorative practice, tiered pastoral support and metacognition pathways.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage workflows and delivery schedules.
