Assistant Director - Early Childhood Education

About the role

St Nicholas Early Education supports families so that children can develop the skills to flourish at home, in care and in communities. The Assistant Director assists and supports the Director in management tasks and leads educators toward quality performance across the centre. The role also covers operation and management of the Singleton service in the Director's absence. It is a permanent full-time position based at the Singleton service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and support the Director in management tasks
• Lead educators toward quality performance in all aspects of the centre
• Manage the operation of the Singleton service when the Director is absent
• Collaborate with the St Nicholas leadership team and help build a team and service in a growing community

Required profile

• Diploma in Children's Services or Degree in Early Childhood Teaching, as identified by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority
• Previous experience managing a budget for an Early Education Centre
• Working With Children Check verification number
• Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training, and approved child protection training

Required skills

• Administrative procedures, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training
• Knowledge of WHS legislation
• Knowledge of the childcare subsidy system (CCSS) and its software compliance application
• Supporting the Early Learning Years Framework with the centre curriculum
