Android Solution Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Solution Lead to join our growing technology team in Melbourne. This hybrid position offers the chance to lead the design and delivery of high‑quality Android applications while mentoring a team of developers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of Android applications using Kotlin, XML and Jetpack Compose.
• Build and maintain core Android components such as Activities, Fragments and Compose Views.
• Develop background processing, services, threading and permission handling.
• Drive best practices for code quality, performance, testing and maintainability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to define solutions and deliver new features.

Required skills

• Strong commercial experience in Android application development.
• Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Hands‑on experience with XML layouts and Jetpack Compose.
• Deep understanding of Activities, Fragments and Android architecture.
• Experience with background work, services, threading and permissions.
• Solid grasp of Android lifecycle management and performance optimisation.
