Analyst / Senior Analyst – Indirect Tax

About the role

RSM Australia is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join its Indirect Tax team. In this position you will work on a variety of domestic indirect tax compliance, advisory and research projects for a diverse client base, applying commercial insight and analytical abilities to interpret legislation and deliver practical advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review indirect tax compliance and advisory deliverables across multiple matters.
• Research case law, legislation and revenue authority guidance to support client solutions.
• Analyse client data, identify issues and propose practical tax solutions.
• Assist with client relationship management and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Support engagement risk assessment, quality control and commercial decisions.
• Manage workflows, time budgets and work‑in‑progress reporting.
• Contribute to internal training, knowledge sharing and team development.
• (Senior Analyst) Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance with an Accounting major (essential).
• Double degree in Business/Commerce/Finance/Law is desirable.
• CA qualification commenced, nearing completion or willingness to start.
• Master of Tax or CTA preferred for senior level.
• 1+ year experience for Analyst level; 2+ years in indirect tax or related tax role for Senior Analyst level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.
