Afternoon Shift Operator – Metal Recycling Yard

About the role

Sims Limited is seeking a reliable Operator for the afternoon shift to work in a metal recycling yard. You will operate mobile plant and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient processing of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and material handlers to move and sort metal scrap.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, following all health, safety, environmental and operational procedures.
• Identify and report hazards, assist with general yard duties, and provide excellent service to drivers, suppliers and customers.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on experience in an operational, manufacturing, recycling or yard environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and a positive, learn‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Operating excavators.
• Operating material handling equipment.
