Actuarial System Specialist

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is looking for an Actuarial System Specialist to join its Actuarial Systems team. The role supports actuarial and finance operations by delivering system enhancements, development initiatives and improvements to key processes such as liability and capital valuations, embedded value reporting and business planning. It works closely with Finance and Actuarial stakeholders to keep systems robust and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Actuarial System team in designing, building, testing and implementing actuarial projection models using the Prophet Enterprise platform
• Analyse and specify data requirements (variable names, formats, attributes) for Prophet model inputs and outputs
• Modify DCS processes to keep system integration points aligned with model changes
• Contribute to data flow processes that interact with the IDR (Insurance Data Repository) to meet IFRS reporting requirements

Required profile

• Qualified actuary (or nearly qualified)
• 7+ years of life insurance experience
• Deep knowledge of Prophet, including its programming language and software operation
• Desirable: experience designing or managing databases, commercial acumen, and experience with JIRA and Confluence

Required skills

• Strong programming and data analysis skills
• Strong SQL and Excel skills
• Prophet (software operation)
