Accounts Payable Officer – 6‑Month Contract – Immediate Start

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a small finance team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on end‑to‑end AP processing while driving process improvements, automation and system optimisation across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle for an assigned portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve invoice queries.
• Perform reconciliations and support month‑end close activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and system enhancements.
• Assist with finance system upgrades, integrations and the implementation of automation tools.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to improve controls, reporting and cross‑train on accounts receivable tasks when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounts payable with a solid understanding of end‑to‑end AP processes and controls.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
