Accountant / Senior Accountant – Tax

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Accountant / Senior Accountant with a strong focus on Tax to join our team. You will work closely with partners, directors, managers and fellow accountants across a diverse client base that includes small to large domestic and cross‑border businesses as well as listed companies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tax and financial compliance for clients, including preparation of financial statements, tax reconciliations and tax returns (GST, FBT, payroll).
• Provide tax advisory services and tailored advice to add value to clients' businesses.
• Maintain extensive client contact, ensuring timely and clear communication.
• Review client files and prepare first‑draft financial and tax documents for management review.
• Resolve complex tax matters by applying deep understanding of client needs.

Required profile

• Degree qualified (accounting or law highly regarded) and progressing towards CA/CPA qualification.
• Experience in employment taxation matters within a professional environment.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet conflicting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to simplify complex tax concepts.
• Motivated to develop a career in middle‑market advisory and compliance.
